Trucking along!

Thanks so much to those of you who have purchased a copy of Ancient Sands! Joyously, I had a recent experience that made the scenery in the book really hit home for me. Layla Packett is the grand-niece of an Egyptologist named Herman Packett. Herman Packett was inspired by a real Egyptologist named Howard Carter. Last week I got to visit Howard Carter’s benefactor’s family home, Highclere Castle. In the cellar is a collection of Egyptian artifacts that Lord Carnarvon gathered.

It was an incredible experience, on a much smaller scale than, say, the British Museum.
