Anayansi Scarborough is a poppet adjuster. She spends her days treating overwhelmed poppets. What’s a poppet, you might ask?

Good question! In the year 2150, magic thrives alongside science. Poppets are magically-infused dolls with computer chips in their heads. These dolls absorb negative emotions of humanity.

This led to the unification of the world, peace, and tranquility. All is well for a hundred years. Then, a fatal illness transmits among poppets, forcing humanity to face their emotions for the first time in over a hundred years.
